It’s my fault.

It’s my fault we’re in this position.

If I hadn’t felt this way, if I hadn’t embraced it, then you could be happy. You could have a normal life, have a family, have a good career. Here I am, though, tying you back from greater things. Greater things that you deserve, because you... you’ve been through too much.

“I’m sorry, Rude,” you said. “You’re my best friend, my partner for life, and I ignored your feelings completely,” you said. I shook my head.

No. It was me. I was the one being stupid. “What feelings?” I managed before my heart hurt too much, reminding me I have one, and I left.

You don’t need me. You never did. People would always say, “Look, there’s Reno. He’s such a handful. I wonder how Rude can handle him. Without Rude there, Reno wouldn’t survive.”

It’s not true. You could live without me, but for me.... It would be impossible.

I could never live without you.

Here we are again. I don’t know why, but my feet always lead me to you. It’s a drug. You’re a drug. Something slips past my lips and suddenly, you’re angry.

“Why did you tell me before?! Why... If it hurt you so much, why did you act like you were okay with me and Tifa?” I can hear you shouting. I close my eyes, piecing two and two together.

So that’s what I said. I am stupid.

“I wanted you to be happy,” I answer. You look away. It’s understandable. I wouldn’t be able to look myself in the eye.

“Even if your happiness was at stake...?” I smile sadly. I know it comes off that way, too. I could never be happy seeing you with another person.

“You do crazy things when you’re in love right?” You start crying and all I can do is hold you. All I can do is comfort you.

It’s my fault you’re hurting.

It’s all my fault.

This is the writing journal for igivebugshugs! Maybe it'll grow to drawings and icons [if I ever get used to photoshop XD]? Everyone I know has one so I was like HOKAY. Anyway, I'll be posting up drabbles/one-shots/whatnot here.
